Ingress Protection Code standard

Ingress Protection Code standard dustproof and waterproof code standard, generally marked with IPxy for dustproof and waterproof grade

The x number represents "dust protection level", and the coding sequence is as follows:
0: No dust protection
1: Prevent the intrusion of large solids
2: Prevent the intrusion of medium-sized solids
3: Prevent the intrusion of small solids
4: Prevent the intrusion of solids less than 1mm
5: Prevent the accumulation of harmful dust
6: Completely prevent dust from entering

They number represents "waterproof level", and the coding sequence is as follows:

0: No waterproof protection
1: Water dripping; vertical dripping should have no negative effects. The amount of water is equal to 1mm of rainfall per minute, and the test is 10 minutes.
2: Anti-tilting 15° water droplets; when tilted to 15° of the normal posture, the vertical water droplets under umbrella protection should have no negative effects. The amount of water is equal to 3mm of rain per minute, and the test is 10 minutes.
3: Waterproof mist; the pressurized spray above the outside of the equipment (within 60 degrees of the vertical line) should have no negative effects such as infiltration. The water volume is 10L per minute, the water pressure is 50-150kPa, and the nozzle is tested for 10 minutes.
4: Anti-splashing; water splashing on the equipment from any angle should have no negative effects. The water volume is 10L per minute, the water pressure is 50-150kPa, and the nozzle is tested for 10 minutes.
5: Prevent low-pressure water jets; the water jets from the nozzle (6.3mm) sprayed onto the equipment shell from any angle should have no negative effects. The water volume is 12L per minute, and the water pressure is 30kPa with a nozzle distance of 3m, and the test is over 3 minutes.
6: Prevent high-pressure water jets; the water jets from the nozzle (12.5mm) sprayed onto the equipment shell from any angle should have no negative effects. The water volume is 100L per minute, and the water pressure is 100kPa at a distance of 3m from the nozzle, and the test is for more than 3 minutes.
7: Prevent water immersion in deep water less than 1m; under clear conditions, including water pressure and time, when the equipment shell is immersed in water (up to 1m), it will not cause damage to the equipment due to immersion. When the height of the equipment is less than 850mm, the lowest point of the equipment shell must be immersed 1000mm below the water surface. When the height of the equipment is greater than 850mm, the highest point of the equipment shell must be immersed 150mm below the water surface. Test for 30 minutes
8: Prevent water immersion in deep water greater than 1m; the equipment can be immersed in water for a long time under the conditions specified by the manufacturer. Usually this means that the device is sealed. However, on some equipment, it can also mean that water can enter without causing negative effects. The depth is specified by the manufacturer, and the test depth for smartphones with the IPX8 waterproof rating advertised on the market is usually 2m. The test continues to be immersed in water for more than 1 hour.
9K: Prevent the immersion of high temperature and high pressure water jets; the equipment can withstand the impact of high temperature and high pressure water jets at close range under the conditions specified by the manufacturer. IP69K is a high temperature and high pressure water protection measure defined by the German standard DIN 40050 PART9. Discharge water at 80°C into the sample at a water pressure of 80-100 BAR from the nozzle of the specified shape. The water volume is 14-16 liters/min. The distance between the sample and the nozzle is 10-15cm, and the water outlet direction is 0, 30, 60, and 90 degrees in the horizontal direction. The sample is placed horizontally in each direction for 30 seconds, and it is executed while the sample surface is rotating. Test for 2 minutes.
